Wind Water Waves produces high-quality microfibre towel ponchos for the surfing and watersports community on South Africa's West Coast. They needed a mark that carried all three W's, and one clean enough to survive the most demanding medium a logo faces: embroidery.
Rather than three separate letters, the W's were woven into a single continuous form, one line that reads as wind, water and waves all at once. Every curve was tested at small scale and low stitch-count to make sure it would hold its shape on fabric, not just on screen.
A single embroidery-ready mark that works at a centimetre or a metre, on a poncho tag, a beach flag or a storefront sign, without losing the idea it was built on.
